About This Tour

A polished eight-day circuit through Thimphu, Punakha, Phobjikha, and Paro, with a helicopter ride over the Himalayas and a side trip to the remote Haa Valley. This tour is entirely within Bhutan, from arrival to departure at Paro International Airport.

Arrival

Arrival pickup at Paro International Airport, with transfer to Thimphu.

Day 1 — Arrival in Thimphu

Arrive at Paro airport, transfer to Thimphu, stopping at Tachogang Lhakhang and the Chuzom river confluence.

Day 2 — Thimphu exploration

Cycle to Tango Monastery, visit the Memorial Chorten and Buddha viewpoint, and watch a live archery match.

Day 3 — Punakha Valley

Drive via Dochula Pass, hike to Chimi Lhakhang, and visit Punakha Dzong.

Day 4 — Phobjikha Valley

Transfer via Wangdue to Phobjikha, visit Gangtey Gompa, and join a local family cooking class.

Day 5 — Paro town

Long transfer back to Paro, with a walking tour of the National Museum, Paro Dzong, and Old Town.

Day 6 — Haa Valley excursion

Helicopter ride over the Himalayas, then a drive via Chele La Pass (3,988m) to Haa Valley's dzong and temples.

Day 7 — Tiger's Nest hike

Hike to Taktsang (Tiger's Nest), perched 900m above the valley, followed by a traditional hot stone bath.

Day 8 — Departure

Hotel checkout and transfer to Paro Airport.
