About This Tour

A high-altitude trek into the Dagala range above Thimphu, crossing alpine lakes and a 4,460m pass with Himalayan views, bookended by Paro and Thimphu sightseeing. This tour is entirely within Bhutan. Days 3-7 are a genuine camping trek in the Dagala range, supported by a trekking crew (chef, helper, guide, and horses to carry luggage), while the other nights are hotel stays in Paro and Thimphu.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Arrival

Arrival pickup at Paro International Airport.

Day 1 — Paro arrival

Airport transfer to hotel, plus visits to Rinpung Dzong and Ta Dzong National Museum.

Day 2 — Paro exploration

Hike to Tiger's Nest Temple (3,200m) and visit Drukgyel Dzong and Kyichu Lhakhang.

Day 3 — Trek start: Paro to Gur

Trek from Genekha village through alpine flora to Gur campsite, 15km over 4 hours.

Day 4 — Gur to Labathamba

Cross meadows and a first pass with Dagala range views, ending at Yutsho Lake, 12km over 5 hours.

Day 5 — Labathamba rest day

A halt day visiting nearby lakes and the pass summit, with views of Kanchenjunga and Jomolhari on clear days.

Day 6 — Labathamba to Pangkha

Cross a 4,460m pass with panoramic Himalayan views, 8km over 4 hours to a grassy meadow camp.

Day 7 — Pangkha to Cherigang

Cross several passes with views of Thimphu valley from the final ridge, 10km over 6 hours.

Day 8 — Thimphu

Visit the Thimphu weekend market and Tashichho Dzong fortress.

Day 9 — Thimphu to Paro

Transfer to Paro with visits to the Memorial Chorten, Buddha Dordenma viewpoint, and Changangkha Lhakhang.

Day 10 — Departure

Checkout and transfer to Paro International Airport.

Departure

The trip ends in Paro with a checkout and transfer to Paro International Airport (PBH) for your departure flight.
