Day-by-Day Itinerary

Arrival

Arrival pickup at Paro International Airport.

Day 1 — Welcome to Paro

Arrival at Paro International Airport and visits to Paro Rinpung Dzong and Kichu Lhakhang.

Day 2 — Dragey Pangtsho Lake hike

Drive to Drugyel Dzong and Bojana Gompa, then a 6+ hour hike to Dragay Pangtsho Lake (4,300m).

Day 3 — Journey to Thimphu

Descend from the lake, then drive to Thimphu and visit Tashichho Dzong.

Day 4 — Thimphu city exploration

Visit the 169-foot Buddha Dordenma statue, Memorial Chorten, and Cheri Monastery area.

Day 5 — Drive to Punakha

Cross Dochula Pass (3,100m) and visit Chimmi Lhakhang (Fertility Temple) on arrival in Punakha.

Day 6 — Kabji Hoka Tsho Lake hike

Hike 2-3 hours from Chorten Nyingbo to Kabji Hoka Tsho lake (2,130m) through forest.

Day 7 — Phobjikha Valley

Drive to Phobjikha, home of the endangered black-necked crane, and visit Gangtey Goenpa.

Day 8 — Return to Paro

Drive back to Paro, with optional hot stone bath, massage, or shopping in the afternoon.

Day 9 — Tiger's Nest Monastery hike

Hike to Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) at 3,120m, with waterfalls and valley views along the way.

Day 10 — Departure

Breakfast, then airport transfer in Paro.

Departure

The trip ends in Paro with a transfer to Paro International Airport (PBH) for your onward flight.
