About This Tour

An informative and entertaining city tour to famous sights and boulevards such as the Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie, and remnants of the Berlin Wall, sometimes using public transport to cover more ground. Your personal local guide combines walking with occasional public transport to reach more of the city's famous sights and boulevards efficiently, accommodating any special interests.

The Berlin Wall went up overnight on 13 August 1961, eventually running some 155 kilometers around West Berlin, and came down on 9 November 1989 — 28 years that are still visible in preserved stretches scattered around the city today, several of which this walk takes you past.

Checkpoint Charlie, the famous crossing named via the NATO phonetic alphabet (it was the third Allied checkpoint, after Alpha and Bravo), and the Brandenburg Gate, completed in 1791, round out the main stops, with your guide occasionally hopping onto a double-decker bus to cover more ground between the walking segments.
