The Brandenburg Gate, one of the fixed points on this route, was completed in 1791 by architect Carl Gotthard Langhans, modeled on the Propylaea gateway to the Acropolis in Athens and topped with a bronze Quadriga — a four-horse chariot driven by the goddess of victory.
