Villa Traful sits inside Nahuel Huapi National Park on the Seven Lakes Road, roughly 100 km from Bariloche and 60 km from Villa La Angostura. Its Mirador del Viento is part of a viewpoint circuit with walkways and balconies, perched on a cliff of about 70 m on the Traful lakeshore.
A viewpoint near the village lets you see the confluence of the Traful and Limay rivers, and the Limay marks the border between Río Negro and Neuquén provinces. The Enchanted Valley, at the mouth of the Limay, is known for its peculiar rock formations.
