Genuinely, yes — the city has grown its cycling network to nearly 1,150 kilometers of routes, and its Bicing bike-share system, running since 2007, is one of the most heavily used in Europe, part of why touring by bike here works as well as it does.

About This Tour
A private tour for your group only, exploring Barcelona genuinely by bike. This is a private tour for your group only, exploring Barcelona genuinely by bike over 3 hours.
Barcelona now has close to 1,150 kilometers of cycling routes across the city, a network built up unevenly over roughly two decades — dedicated bike lanes grew from around 116 to 209 kilometers between 2015 and 2019 alone, following a period in the early 2010s when a change in city government had slowed cycling investment to a near-standstill. The result is a city genuinely built, at least in large part, around bikes, rather than one that merely tolerates them.
The Bicing bike-share system, running since March 2007 with more than 500 stations and over 7,000 bikes today, is part of that same shift — a real, heavily used piece of the city's everyday transport, not just a tourist novelty.
Over three hours by bike, that infrastructure makes it realistic to cover a meaningfully wider slice of the city than walking allows — threading through both the tight medieval core and the more open boulevards beyond it — while still moving slowly enough to actually look at what's around, which is the real tradeoff a bike tour offers that neither walking nor a bus tour quite gets right.
