About This Tour

A private, award-winning day tour to Glendalough, Powerscourt, and the Wicklow Mountains, in a shorter 6-hour format. This award-winning private tour covers Glendalough, Powerscourt, and the Wicklow Mountains in a more compact 6-hour format - a genuinely shorter option than the fuller 7-8 hour combos.

Glendalough leads this more compact, 6-hour version of the classic Wicklow trio. St Kevin founded the monastic settlement here in the second half of the 6th century, originally seeking solitude as a hermit rather than building a community - the Round Tower that still stands roughly 30 metres tall was partly built as a refuge from later Viking raids, and the ruined stone churches scattered through the valley are genuinely among the best-preserved early-Christian remains in Ireland.

From Glendalough, the tour moves on to Powerscourt's 18th-century gardens and through Wicklow Mountains National Park, the same dramatic granite-and-heather landscape used in several well-known film productions.

At 6 hours rather than the fuller 7-8-hour format other operators run, this is a genuinely shorter, tighter version of the same three stops - a sensible pick if you want the highlights without quite as long a day, though the longer tours do give more unhurried time at each site.
