Stranger Things filmed in Georgia from its first season in 2016, and the show's Hawkins, Indiana was assembled from several places rather than one town. The downtown of Jackson, Georgia, including a furniture store used as a stand-in movie-theater facade and the Butts County Probate Court, represented the early-1980s main street, and the Hawkins National Laboratory exterior was shot at a former psychiatric hospital building on Emory University's Briarcliff campus in Atlanta.
School scenes were filmed at Patrick Henry High School in Stockbridge, Georgia, while many interiors were built on sound stages at Atlanta's EUE/Screen Gems Studios. Stone Mountain Park supplied woods, railroad tracks and fairground scenes, some of which appear in the Upside Down sequences. Which of these your private route reaches depends on the day, so ask your guide to confirm the exact stops.
