Asheville is unusually well suited to short photo sessions because so many different looks sit within a small area. Downtown has Art Deco buildings from the 1920s, including the Flatiron Building and the S&W Cafeteria building, and the River Arts District offers old industrial brick and murals.
The mountains frame it all. The Blue Ridge Parkway and Pisgah National Forest are within a short drive, so a photographer can often combine city and mountain backdrops, though a 30-minute to one-hour session usually uses just a couple of nearby spots.
Light matters more than location. Photographers typically favor the soft light of morning and late afternoon, so ask your photographer about timing when you book.
