About This Tour

Algonquin is among Ontario's best-known fishing parks, with more than 230 lakes holding native brook trout and about 149 holding lake trout, according to Ontario Parks. Smallmouth bass become the main draw as summer warms the shallows.
The founder-led, two-angler format and electric-motor boat suit the park's quiet-water ethos. A silent approach lets you work a shoreline without spooking fish, and early morning is when bass and trout are typically most active.
The park itself dates to 1893 and covers roughly 7,600 square kilometres, so even a three-hour outing explores only a small slice of its lake country.
