About This Tour

An 8-day route through Andasibe's rainforest reserves to Akanin'ny Nofy on the Pangalanes Canal, with boat tours, lakeshore time, and a chance to spot the elusive aye-aye lemur. This is our only Madagascar route built entirely around the east — Andasibe's forests and the Pangalanes Canal waterways — without the west's tsingy or an island finish.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Arrival

Arrival pickup at Ivato International Airport (TNR) in Antananarivo.

Day 1 — Arrival in Antananarivo

Land at Ivato Airport and transfer into town for a first dinner and overnight.

Day 2 — Andasibe's Private Reserves

Visit Mitsinjo Park, the VOI reserve, and Vakona Private Park, known for its lemur islands and crocodile park, with an optional night visit.

Day 3 — Andasibe National Park

A morning in Andasibe National Park, home to 11 lemur species, with treks ranging from two to eight hours.

Day 4 — Community Reserve

A visit to a small community-based reserve with local guides, spotting lemurs, birds, and chameleons.

Day 5 — To Akanin'ny Nofy

Drive to the coastal village of Manambato, then transfer by boat to Akanin'ny Nofy and the Palmarium hotel, known for its aye-aye sightings.

Day 6 — Pangalanes Canal

A boat tour on the Pangalanes Canal or a village visit, with time to relax on the Ampitabe lakeshore.

Day 7 — Back to Antananarivo

Return to Manambato with stops at nature reserves or scenic viewpoints, then drive back to the capital.

Day 8 — Departure

A free morning to explore the city and shop before your transfer to Ivato International Airport.

Departure

The trip ends with a return flight to Antananarivo and transfer to Ivato International Airport for your departure flight.
