About Outlet Collection at Niagara

The Outlet Collection at Niagara is an open-air outlet shopping centre in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, beside the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW), the highway that links the Greater Toronto Area with Niagara Falls. It opened on 15 May 2014, and the centre says it has more than 100 outlet brands. It is in the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake rather than the city of Niagara Falls, so it is a separate stop from the Falls and the Niagara Parkway.

An open-air outlet centre

Unlike an enclosed mall, an open-air centre has its stores along outdoor walkways, so you walk outside between stores and the weather matters. The developer, Ivanhoé Cambridge, billed it as Canada's largest open-air outlet shopping centre when it opened, and Niagara Falls Tourism and Visit Niagara Canada still repeat that wording. Treat "largest" as the developer's billing rather than a measured ranking. Niagara Falls Tourism and Wikipedia give the floor area as 553,000 square feet, while the opening announcement gave 520,000, so sources differ on the exact figure.

Opening and development

Ivanhoé Cambridge developed the centre, and trade press described it as the company's first pure outlet project. A news release dated 29 April 2014 counted 102 retailers and 520,000 square feet ahead of the 15 May 2014 opening, and said the centre would include a food court pavilion called the Eatery and an event area for a farmers' market and community gatherings. The release and the opening report both mention several first-in-Canada outlet concepts among the opening tenants. Store lists have changed since then, and the centre now describes more than 100 outlet brands.

Brands and shopping

On 13 October 2026 the centre's website listed more than 100 outlet brands and named Aritzia, Nike Factory Store and Coach among them. Tenant lists change, so use the centre's online directory for the current stores; a brand named here is not a promise that its store is open or stocks a particular item. Voyzo is not affiliated with the centre or with any brand, and brand names belong to their owners. For 2026 the centre also runs a visitor discount card for guests from out of town, collected at its Guest Services desk with proof of residence; each store sets its own conditions and exclusions, so read the terms before counting on a saving.

Facilities

The centre's services page lists Wi-Fi, complimentary wheelchair, walker and stroller loans (first come, first served, with photo identification), family washrooms, a nursing room, a Guest Services desk with tourism information and a lost-and-found. Dogs are welcome in the common areas, though each store decides whether to admit them. Because the centre is open-air, the walk between stores is outdoors, so check the forecast before you go.

Getting there

By road, the centre is just off the QEW. Wikipedia gives rough driving times of about 10 minutes from Niagara Falls and about 90 minutes from Toronto, while a routing estimate without traffic gives closer to 15 to 20 minutes to the Falls and about 85 minutes from downtown Toronto, so allow longer at busy times. Visit Niagara Canada lists the centre as a stop on Niagara Region Transit routes; schedules, especially on Sundays and holidays, change, so check nrtransit.ca before relying on a bus. The centre's group tours page says groups of ten or more can pre-register for a sheltered drop-off area and motorcoach parking, and that these benefits are not guaranteed unless the trip is booked before the arrival date.

Visiting tips

  • Check the centre's hours page for your date, because hours differ by day of the week and the centre lists special hours for holidays.
  • Dress for the weather, since the walk between stores is outdoors.
  • Bring photo identification if you want to borrow a wheelchair, walker or stroller, and proof of your home address if you want the visitor discount card.
  • A group of ten or more should ask the centre about pre-registration before the day.
  • Allow extra time for the drive back, because traffic on the QEW can lengthen the trip at peak times and on busy weekends.

Old Town Niagara-on-the-Lake, the Niagara Parkway and the Falls can all be reached by road from the centre.
