An 8-day road trip from Athens into Epirus, visiting four ancient theatres — Ambracia, Dodona, Cassope, and Nicopolis — plus Ioannina, the Vikos Gorge, and the oracle site of Necromanteion. Adapted from a self-drive itinerary — the original route hands you a rental car in Athens on Day 2 for the drive north into Epirus. A day trip to the Zagorochoria villages, including Monodendri for views of the Vikos Gorge, one of the world's deepest canyons, and the three-arched Kokkori stone bridge at Kipi.
A visit to Dodona's Hellenistic Theatre and Sacred Home ruins, then a drive through the Paramythia mountains to Parga for beach time on the Ionian Sea.
Exploring the ancient city of Cassope and the Temple of Aphrodite, then the Necromanteion oracle site and the banks of the Acheron River, with a return to Parga for dinner.
