Sample itinerary: Skylon Tower, Journey Behind the Falls and a boat ride

This is a sample plan for a day that starts and ends in Niagara Falls. Niagara Parks and Niagara City Cruises publish visit lengths for Journey Behind the Falls, the boat ride and the Floral Clock; Skylon Tower publishes none, so the time at Skylon, the Parkway drive and the transfers are our estimates. Times are indicative, not a fixed schedule, and we confirm the details in your booking confirmation.

  1. Hour 0:00

    Pickup

Your driver-guide meets you at your pickup point at the start time we confirm for your date.

  2. Hours 0:00–0:15

    Transfer to your first stop

A short drive to the first attraction. This sample assumes your day starts in Niagara Falls; coming from Toronto adds about 1.5 hours each way.

  3. Hours 0:15–1:00

    Skylon Tower observation decks

A glass-enclosed elevator takes about 52 seconds to the top, about 775 feet above the Niagara Gorge. There is an indoor deck and an outdoor deck; only the indoor deck is wheelchair accessible. Skylon Tower publishes no visit length, so the 45 minutes is our estimate.

  4. Hours 1:00–2:00

    Journey Behind the Falls

An elevator takes you down 125 feet to tunnels, viewing portals and an observation deck beside the Horseshoe Falls. Niagara Parks lists about 60 minutes (it varies), and online buyers choose a timed one-hour window to join the queue.

  5. Hours 2:00–2:45

Niagara City Cruises boat ride (seasonal)

About 20 minutes on the water plus boarding, into the mist at the base of the Horseshoe Falls, with a complimentary poncho. It sails only in season and when weather allows.

  6. Hours 2:45–3:40

Niagara Parkway, Whirlpool and Floral Clock

A drive along the Niagara Gorge to the Niagara Whirlpool, where the river turns sharply at the end of the Whirlpool Rapids. From May to October the plan can include the Floral Clock, which Niagara Parks puts at about 30 minutes.

  7. Hours 3:40–3:55

    Return transfer

A short drive back to your pickup address.

  8. By hour 4:00

    Drop-off

You are back at your pickup address. The last few minutes are a buffer for traffic, parking and queues.

Sample route, not to scale; times are planning allowances

Your pickup short transfer Skylon Tower about 45 min at Skylon Journey Behind the Falls about 1 h behind the Falls Boat ride (seasonal) about 45 min with boarding Whirlpool & Niagara Parkway 55 min on the Parkway, then back
Late-start and evening variant

Want the Falls after dark? The calendar's latest start is 4:00 PM, and the Falls lights come on at 4:30 PM in November and December, so a late start can finish in the dark. This tour is not built around the evening illumination or fireworks (the 2026 fireworks series ended on 12 October, and 2027 dates had not been published when we checked on 13 October 2026). For an evening plan, see our Niagara Falls Night Tour.

Niagara Falls Night Tour · from $1,499 total for 1 to 4 guests · 4 hours

Tickets, seasons & itinerary changes
  • Tickets and queues: Journey Behind the Falls sells timed one-hour windows to join its queue, and Niagara City Cruises says a pre-bought ticket skips the ticket-booth line but not the boarding queue, which can be long at peak times.
  • Seasons: the boat ride is seasonal and runs only when weather and water conditions allow, and the Floral Clock is on show from May to October. Journey Behind the Falls and Skylon Tower are open all year, with hours that change by date; see the table of what is open when.
  • The order of stops can change with timed entry, queues and weather, and we confirm the running order for your date by email.
  • Your driver-guide may adjust the plan for traffic, weather, closures or safety.

Pickup and drop-off for the Skylon Tower and Journey Behind the Falls tour

Pickup is in the Niagara region or the Greater Toronto Area, from your hotel, home or an airport; we confirm your pickup point and time by email when your booking is confirmed. Drop-off is at your preferred hotel, home or airport. Tell us where you will start by email to info@voyzo.com or in the quote form on this page. The three attractions are in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Niagara Falls is about 125 to 130 km from downtown Toronto, roughly 1.5 hours each way in normal traffic. If you start in the Toronto area, whether the up-to-4-hour clock includes that drive is confirmed when you book. Staying in Toronto and want the drive built into a full day? We email your exact start time and your driver-guide's details after we confirm your booking.

Cancellation and changes

Cancel up to 24 hours before your tour date. We need at least 24 hours' notice to book a tour date. Cancellations made with less notice may be subject to a fee. The cancellation terms that apply come with your booking confirmation; see section 7 of our Terms and Conditions. Need a different date? Contact us before the 24-hour cutoff and we will do our best to reschedule, subject to availability. Because the boat ride, timed entry and attraction hours depend on the date, a new date can change the running order.

How booking works
  1. Choose your group size, date and preferred start time. We need at least 24 hours' notice before your tour date.
  2. Send your request. Select Book now in the calendar. It sends a request, not a confirmed booking: we confirm availability by email, as soon as possible after we receive it.
  3. Get your trip details. After confirmation we email your exact start time, your pickup details and your driver-guide's details before the tour.

Reserve now, pay later. Your booking is a request until we confirm availability by email. Your card is charged 48 hours before your tour date; if you book within 48 hours of the tour, you pay when you book.

Tickets, timed entry and queues

Whether the attraction tickets are part of your group price is confirmed when you book; this page does not list them as included. Journey Behind the Falls sells timed one-hour windows to join its queue, and Niagara City Cruises says a pre-bought ticket skips the ticket-booth line but not the boarding queue, which can be long from 11 AM to 6 PM between mid-June and Labour Day and on holiday weekends. Niagara City Cruises also says it cannot guarantee a departure within a booked slot at peak times, so lines can still form. We confirm the plan for your date by email.

Who runs your tour

You book with Voyzo FZ-LLC. In Toronto and Niagara Falls, tours are operated using a dedicated fleet and drivers provided through Voyzo's affiliated Canadian operating company. Voyzo remains your point of contact for booking, pricing and support: info@voyzo.com.

Your group is hosted by one driver-guide who both drives the vehicle and guides the day. A separate tour guide is not included.

The driver-guide and vehicle are licensed and insured.

Accessibility

Access depends on the stop, and the vehicle is confirmed separately. Tell us about any mobility needs before you book and we will check with the operator what can be arranged; we cannot promise a wheelchair-accessible vehicle until it is confirmed for your date. Skylon Tower: only the indoor observation level is wheelchair accessible, and three steps lead to the outdoor deck. Journey Behind the Falls: Niagara Parks lists it as partially accessible, with an elevator to an accessible tunnel, the viewing portals and the upper deck, and about 18 steps down to the lower deck. Boat ride: the tour is described as wheelchair accessible. Niagara Parks lends a few wheelchairs at the Table Rock Welcome Centre on a first-come basis. Email info@voyzo.com with questions about your needs.

Children and child seats

Children are welcome. Tell us their ages, and whether you need child or booster seats, by email to info@voyzo.com or in the quote form on this page. Seats are not promised: the operator confirms what is available before your tour, and Ontario sets car-seat and booster rules by a child's age, weight and height. Strollers are not permitted inside Journey Behind the Falls, although small to mid-size infant strollers are permitted on the boat. Niagara City Cruises says every rider, infants included, needs a ticket, and Niagara Parks lists Journey Behind the Falls child tickets as ages 3 to 12, with ages 2 and under free.

What to bring and the weather

Bring a camera, comfortable shoes that can take water, and layers for the weather. The boat ride gives you a complimentary poncho, and Niagara City Cruises says you will get wet from the mist. Journey Behind the Falls does not allow bags larger than 56 × 36 × 23 cm (22 × 14 × 9 in).

Weather and closures

The boat ride runs only when weather and water conditions allow, and Niagara Parks says high wind or water levels can close it without notice. Attraction hours change by date and are published by each operator. Your driver-guide may adjust the plan for traffic, weather, closures or safety.

Group size and vehicle

The starting price is for up to 4 guests; larger groups pay the tier price for their size, up to 56 guests, and we match the vehicle to your group. This page does not name a vehicle for each tier. Choose your group size in the booking calendar; the pricing table shows the price for each size.

Frequently asked questions

How much does this private Niagara Falls tour cost?

It costs US$1,699 in total for 1 to 4 guests, and the total rises with group size: US$1,999 for 5 to 6, US$2,499 for 7 to 10, US$2,999 for 11 to 14, US$3,499 for 15 to 28, US$3,999 for 29 to 34 and US$4,499 for 35 to 56 guests. Prices are for the whole group, in US dollars, with no added taxes. Each price is for the tour as described, up to 4 hours, with all tolls, parking and fuel included; we confirm whether the attraction tickets are part of the price when you book.

What does the price include, and are the attraction tickets covered?

The price covers a private vehicle with a licensed, insured driver-guide, pickup and drop-off in the Niagara region or the Greater Toronto Area, and all tolls, parking and fuel, for a tour planned around Skylon Tower, Journey Behind the Falls and a boat ride that runs when the season allows. Whether the attraction tickets are part of the group price is confirmed when you book; this page does not list them as included, so ask us before you send your request if it matters. Meals, gratuities for your driver-guide and extras such as a helicopter flight are not included.

How long is the tour, and does the 4 hours include the drive from Toronto?

The tour runs up to 4 hours, and whether that includes the drive from Toronto is confirmed when you book. Niagara Falls is about 125 to 130 km from downtown Toronto, roughly 1.5 hours each way in normal traffic and longer at rush hour or on busy weekends, so a Toronto round trip adds about 3 hours in total (about 1.5 hours each way). The sample plan assumes a day that starts in Niagara Falls. For a full day from the city, see our private tour from Toronto: a different, longer tour of up to 8 hours with door-to-door pickup in the Greater Toronto Area and the return drive built in, priced separately, with attraction tickets extra.

What time can the tour start?

The booking calendar offers hourly start times from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, but a start time is a request and we confirm one that fits the attractions' opening hours. In autumn 2026, Niagara Parks' published hours had Journey Behind the Falls opening at 9 AM and the boat ride starting at about 9:30 AM, so an early-morning request may be moved. A late-afternoon start in autumn or winter can finish after dark. These hours were checked on 13 October 2026 and change by date.

Where do you pick up and drop off?

Pickup is in the Niagara region or the Greater Toronto Area, from your hotel, home or an airport; we confirm your pickup point and time by email when your booking is confirmed. Drop-off is at your preferred hotel, home or airport. Tell us where you will start by email to info@voyzo.com or in the quote form on this page. The three attractions are in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

What is the cancellation policy?

You can cancel up to 24 hours before your tour date. Cancellations made with less notice may be subject to a fee. The cancellation terms that apply come with your booking confirmation; section 7 of our Terms and Conditions covers cancellations. We need at least 24 hours' notice to book a tour date. To change your date, contact us before the 24-hour cutoff and we will do our best to reschedule, subject to availability.

How does booking this tour work?

You choose your group size, date and preferred start time in the booking calendar, then select Book now to send your request; we need at least 24 hours' notice before the tour. Your booking is a request until we confirm availability by email. After we confirm, we email your start time, your pickup details and your driver-guide's details before the tour. You can reserve now and pay later.

Can I reserve now and pay later?

Yes. You can reserve now and pay later. Your booking is a request until we confirm availability by email, and payment for a confirmed booking is processed securely by third-party payment processors. Your card is charged 48 hours before your tour date; if you book within 48 hours of the tour, you pay when you book.

How much is the tour per person?

One guest pays the full US$1,699 total; with two guests it works out to about US$850 each, with three about US$566 and with four about US$425. For larger groups, divide the group total by the number of guests: about US$333 each with 6, US$250 with 10, US$214 with 14, US$125 with 28, US$118 with 34 and US$80 with 56, if the group is full. These figures are arithmetic, not a per-person price: you pay one total for the group.

When will my pickup time be confirmed?

Your pickup time is confirmed in the email we send once your booking is confirmed, ahead of your tour date. The calendar's start times are requests, so we choose one that fits the attractions' hours and your pickup address. Tell us where you will start by email to info@voyzo.com or in the quote form on this page, so we can plan the pickup.

Can I make changes after booking?

Usually. Contact us before the 24-hour cancellation cutoff and we will do our best to change your date or plan, subject to availability. A new date can change what runs, because the boat ride, Journey Behind the Falls' timed entry and Skylon Tower's hours all depend on the date, so we confirm the running order again for the new date. A longer day than the tour allows needs a custom quote.

Is the boat ride part of the tour, and when does it run?

The tour is planned around a Niagara City Cruises boat ride when it is operating, and the ride is seasonal, typically spring to late autumn, weather permitting. Niagara City Cruises runs the roughly 20-minute Voyage to the Falls. Niagara Parks' published 2026 hours showed daily sailings to 28 November, Friday to Monday only in December (the last on 28 December) and none from 29 December to late April 2027 (checked 13 October 2026). When the boat is not sailing, the tour is built around Journey Behind the Falls and Skylon Tower, and we confirm what applies to your date.

Who guides the tour?

One driver-guide drives the vehicle and guides the day for your group, and the driver-guide and vehicle are licensed and insured. A separate tour guide is not included. You book with Voyzo FZ-LLC. In Toronto and Niagara Falls, tours are operated using a dedicated fleet and drivers provided through Voyzo's affiliated Canadian operating company, and Voyzo remains your point of contact for booking, pricing and support: info@voyzo.com.

How many people can come, and which vehicle do we get?

A private group can be anywhere from one traveller to 56 guests, and the price tier follows your group size. The starting price covers 1 to 4 guests, and we match the vehicle to your group; this page does not name a vehicle for each tier. Choose your group size in the booking calendar; for 21 to 56 guests, choose “> 20” in the group-size list, type your group size and click outside the box to update the price. The calendar accepts up to 56 guests.

Journey Behind the Falls or the boat ride: which should I choose?

Journey Behind the Falls and the boat ride show the Falls from different places, and this tour is planned around both. Journey Behind the Falls takes about 60 minutes by Niagara Parks' listing, is open all year and goes down 125 feet to tunnels and viewing portals beside the Falls. The boat ride takes about 20 minutes on the water, sails only in season and weather permitting, and on daytime sailings ends in the mist at the base of the Horseshoe Falls. When time is short or the boat is not sailing, Journey Behind the Falls is the year-round option.

Is Journey Behind the Falls worth it?

Journey Behind the Falls is a good fit if you want to see the Horseshoe Falls from tunnels and portals beside them, reached by an elevator that descends about 38 metres (125 feet). Niagara Parks lists about 60 minutes for the visit (it varies), it is open all year, and Niagara Parks says it stays open during its multi-year upgrade. It may suit you less with a stroller, which is not permitted inside, or with limited mobility, because the lower deck is reached by about 18 steps.

Is Skylon Tower worth it?

Skylon Tower is a good fit if you want a high view of all three waterfalls: the tower is 520 feet tall, and Skylon's website gives the height of its observation deck as 775 feet above the Niagara Gorge on one page and 764 feet on another. A glass-enclosed Yellow Bug elevator reaches the top in about 52 seconds, and there are indoor and outdoor decks. The tower is open all year, including holidays, with hours that change by day and season. Only the indoor deck is wheelchair accessible; three steps lead to the outdoor deck.

Do we get wet on the boat, and what should we wear?

Yes, you can expect to get wet from the mist on the boat ride, and Niagara City Cruises provides a complimentary poncho. Wear shoes that can take water and bring layers, because the mist can leave you wet in any season. Journey Behind the Falls does not allow bags larger than 56 × 36 × 23 cm (22 × 14 × 9 in), so travel light and ask us if you have luggage with you.

Can we do this tour in winter, and what changes?

Yes, you can request the tour in winter: Journey Behind the Falls and Skylon Tower are open all year, but the boat ride and the Floral Clock are out of season. Niagara Parks' published 2026 hours list no boat sailings from 29 December to late April 2027 (checked 13 October 2026), and the Floral Clock is on show from May to October. The Falls do not fully freeze: ice can form on the surface and at the base while the water keeps flowing. For a winter outing without the boat ride, see our Winter Wonderland tour.

Can we see the Falls lit at night or watch the fireworks?

The Falls are lit every night of the year, but this tour is not built around the evening, and the latest start in the calendar is 4:00 PM. Lights-on time runs from 4:30 PM in November and December to 8:30 PM from 15 May to 31 July. Fireworks are seasonal: Niagara Parks' 2026 series ran nightly at 10 PM from 15 May to 12 October, and 2027 dates had not been published when we checked on 13 October 2026. For an evening plan, see our Night Tour.

Is the tour suitable for wheelchair users or limited mobility?

Access differs by stop, and we cannot promise a wheelchair-accessible vehicle until the operator has confirmed one for your date. At Skylon Tower only the indoor deck is wheelchair accessible. Niagara Parks lists Journey Behind the Falls as partially accessible: an elevator leads to an accessible tunnel, the viewing portals and the upper observation deck, and about 18 steps lead to the lower deck. The boat tour is described as wheelchair accessible. Tell us your needs before you book and we will check with the operator.

Can we bring children, strollers and car seats?

Children are welcome; tell us their ages, and whether you need child or booster seats, by email to info@voyzo.com or in the quote form on this page. Seats are not promised: the operator confirms availability before your tour, and Ontario sets car-seat and booster rules by a child's age, weight and height. Strollers are not permitted inside Journey Behind the Falls, while small to mid-size infant strollers are permitted on the boat. Niagara City Cruises says all riders, infants included, need a ticket.

Do I need a passport for this tour?

This tour stays in Canada and does not cross the Canada-U.S. border. Canada says you do not need an eTA for travel within Canada, and we suggest carrying photo ID. The documents you need to enter Canada depend on your nationality and how you arrive, so check canada.ca before you travel. Seeing the American side means crossing the border, which is a different tour, our USA and Canada combo tour.

Can I add a helicopter flight, a meal or a winery tasting?

Possibly, but extras are not part of the tour price and this page lists no prices for them. Email info@voyzo.com or use the quote form on this page to tell us what you would like, and we confirm availability and the price by email. Each extra adds time, and the tour is up to 4 hours, so a long list may mean dropping a stop. For a helicopter flight and lunch built into the day, see our helicopter, boat ride and lunch tour.

Is a private tour worth it compared with buying the three tickets myself?

That depends on your group, and we make no savings claim either way: separate tickets are three purchases at three operators, while this tour is one booking at one group total, with your own vehicle and driver-guide and all tolls, parking and fuel included. Niagara Parks runs Journey Behind the Falls, Niagara City Cruises runs the boat ride and Skylon Tower sells its own tickets. Neither route skips the boarding queue at the boat or the timed entry at Journey Behind the Falls. One guest pays the full US$1,699; four guests share it, about US$425 each.

About the Skylon Tower and Journey Behind the Falls tour

Added up, the sample plan is about 3 hours 25 minutes at four stops plus short transfers: roughly 45 minutes at Skylon Tower, an hour at Journey Behind the Falls (Niagara Parks lists about 60 minutes), 45 minutes for the boat ride with boarding, and 55 minutes for the Parkway drive past the Whirlpool, with the Floral Clock from May to October. These are planning allowances, not a timetable: Niagara Parks and Niagara City Cruises publish visit lengths for Journey Behind the Falls, the boat ride and the Floral Clock, but Skylon Tower publishes none, so the time at Skylon and on the Parkway drive are our estimates.

The tour as described does not include a winery stop, a meal, the evening illumination or fireworks. For wine, see our Niagara-on-the-Lake wine tour; for the Falls after dark, see our Night Tour.

Niagara Parks says the first tunnels behind the Falls opened in May 1889. A second tunnel was cut into the rock in 1944, about 18 metres behind the first, and the attraction took the name Journey Behind the Falls in 1994. It is entered from the Table Rock Welcome Centre.

Skylon Tower opened in 1965. Its concrete shaft was poured continuously for 38 days using slip-form construction, and the saucer-shaped top was built at ground level and raised. The tower is 520 feet (160 metres) tall, and Skylon's website gives the height of the observation deck above the Niagara Gorge as 775 feet on one page and 764 feet on another.

The operator now called Niagara City Cruises (formerly Hornblower Niagara Cruises) took over the Canadian-side boat tour in 2014, after Maid of the Mist's last sailing from that dock on 24 October 2013; Maid of the Mist still sails from the U.S. side. The Floral Clock, built in 1950, is a Niagara Parks display with a face about 12 metres (40 feet) across.
