Toronto Islands Evening Bike Tour: sample ride

This is a sample ride, not a fixed schedule. The ferry timetable, the season and the weather shape the plan, so we confirm your start time, the route and the finish point by email. No stop has a set time.

  1. Start

Meet near the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal

The tour meets at a fixed location near the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal, which is at 9 Queens Quay West. We email the exact spot and your start time after your booking is confirmed. The City of Toronto says the terminal has no parking, and Destination Toronto lists Union subway station as the transit stop for the ferry docks, with a walk or a one-stop ride on the 509 or 510 streetcar.

  2. On the way

Take the ferry to the islands

The islands are reached by ferry from the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal, and the City of Toronto says bicycles are welcome on board and are walked on and off. Ferry times change by season and with weather, and in winter the City lists a Ward's Island timetable only, so we confirm the crossing and the route for your date.

  3. Stop 1

    Ride the Toronto Islands

Cycle island paths where public vehicles are not allowed, with views of the Toronto skyline across the water. When the route for your date allows, the ride passes Gibraltar Point Lighthouse, which the City describes as the oldest stone building in Toronto. The City lists a network of paved and gravel trails on the islands. We confirm the route with your start time.

  4. Return

    Cross back to the mainland

The islands are reached by ferry, so the group crosses back to the mainland. The City says peak travel from the islands is typically 5 to 9 p.m. on weekends and holidays, with waits that may exceed 30 to 60 minutes, so ask us which sailing is planned for your group. We confirm the return sailing for your date.

  5. Finish

    Where the tour ends

We confirm where the tour finishes in your booking confirmation.

  4. Receive your confirmation. Once we confirm availability by email, we send your exact start time and meeting point ahead of the tour.
Who runs your tour

You book with Voyzo FZ-LLC, and Voyzo remains your point of contact for booking, pricing and support: info@voyzo.com.

Some private tours run on the vehicles and drivers of Voyzo's affiliated Canadian operating company; other tours, such as flights, boat rides and attraction visits, are run by independent operators, all professionally licensed and insured.

This is a guided bike ride, not a vehicle tour: your group rides with its own guide, and the bikes, helmets and lights are provided. The City of Toronto's Toronto Island ferries are public, so expect other passengers on board; we confirm your crossing by email.

Start time and the evening name

The tour is named for the evening, and its start time shifts with the season. The booking calendar lists hourly preferred start times from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM; the time you pick is a preference, and we confirm the actual start time for your date by email once your booking is confirmed. Ontario's clocks go back one hour on Sunday 1 November 2026, so tell us in the quote form which time you have in mind.

The ferry

The ride starts near the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal, the City of Toronto's terminal for the Toronto Island ferries, and crosses to the islands by ferry. The City's ferries are public, so expect other passengers on board, and we confirm your crossing by email. The City says bicycles are welcome on board and are walked on and off, and that all ferry schedules are subject to change due to weather or mechanical issues. It says peak travel on weekends and holidays is typically 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to the islands and 5 to 9 p.m. from the islands, with waits that may exceed 30 to 60 minutes (checked 29 October 2026).

Winter and the route

The City of Toronto's winter ferry schedule runs from 14 October to mid-April and, on 29 October 2026, lists a Ward's Island timetable only; it lists Centre Island, Hanlan's Point and Ward's Island service for mid-April to mid-October. We confirm the crossing, the route and whether the ride passes Gibraltar Point Lighthouse for your date by email. We confirm by email whether the tour runs on your winter date.

Bikes, helmets and lights

Bikes, helmets and lights are provided for the ride. We confirm bike sizes, and whether child bikes, e-bikes or adaptive bikes are available, by email. Ontario's bicycle-safety page says cyclists under 18 must wear an approved bicycle helmet and that a bicycle needs a white light on the front and a red light or reflector on the back at night.

Ferry tickets and extras

We confirm by email whether ferry tickets are part of your price. If they are not, the City of Toronto lists round-trip fares of CAD $9.57 for adults (20 to 64), CAD $6.15 for older adults (65 and over) and youth (15 to 19) and CAD $4.51 for juniors (2 to 14), with children under 2 free; a ticket covers travel to any island dock and the return trip (checked 29 October 2026). Online tickets give an express line at peak times. Gratuities are not included.

Snack and dietary needs

We confirm by email whether a snack is part of the tour and what it is. Tell us about dietary needs or allergies when you book.

Accessibility

The City of Toronto says the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal and the ferries are accessible to passengers using wheelchairs or mobility-assisted devices, with designated waiting areas and priority boarding (checked 29 October 2026). The tour itself is a bike ride, and we confirm by email whether adaptive bikes or a vehicle option are available. If anyone in your group has mobility needs, tell us before you book; questions go to info@voyzo.com, and we confirm what can be arranged.

Children

Include your children's ages in the quote form or your booking request. We confirm any minimum age, weight limit and bike or helmet sizes by email. Ontario law requires cyclists under 18 to wear an approved bicycle helmet, a parent or guardian must make sure children aged 16 and under wear one, and children riding in a child carrier or bicycle trailer must wear one too (ontario.ca, updated 19 March 2026). If the ferry fare is not in your price, the City's junior fare for ages 2 to 14 is CAD $4.51 round trip and children under 2 travel free (checked 29 October 2026).

Weather and what to bring

Dress for the weather and for cycling. The City says the islands can be colder than the rest of Toronto from October to April, and that ferry schedules are subject to change due to weather or mechanical issues. Ask us before you book: we confirm by email what happens if rain, wind or a ferry disruption stops the ride. If you must be back by a set time, say so by email or in the quote form.

About the Toronto Islands Evening Bike Tour

This ride is for groups who want the Toronto Islands with a guide and bikes provided, rather than organising ferry times, bikes and a route themselves. The islands sit across the harbour from downtown and are reached by the City of Toronto's ferry from the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal. The City says public vehicles are not allowed on them and calls the trails pedestrian-friendly multi-use trails, so the paths are shared with walkers and other riders.

Seasons shape the ride. The City's winter ferry schedule runs from 14 October to mid-April and, on 29 October 2026, lists a Ward's Island timetable only; the clocks go back on 1 November 2026; and the islands can be colder than the rest of Toronto from October to April. The tour is named for the evening, so we confirm the start time and the route for your date by email before the ride.

The Toronto Islands sit across the harbour from downtown and are reached by the City of Toronto's ferry from the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal at 9 Queens Quay West. The City says only emergency and commercial service vehicles are allowed on the island, calls the trails pedestrian-friendly multi-use trails and lists a network of paved and gravel trails. It runs a winter ferry schedule from 14 October to mid-April, which on 29 October 2026 lists a Ward's Island timetable only, and lists Centre Island, Hanlan's Point and Ward's Island service for mid-April to mid-October.

The City of Toronto describes Gibraltar Point Lighthouse as the oldest stone building in Toronto, over 200 years old and just north of Gibraltar Point Beach. Whether your ride passes it depends on the route we confirm for your date.

Some of the islands are a residential community: residents of Ward's and Algonquin Islands hold title to their homes and lease the lots until 15 December 2092, according to the Toronto Islands Residential Community Trust. If your route passes homes, we ask guests to respect residents' privacy.
