Overview
Highlights
-
Ancient American ceramics (now called Ancestral Abiayala)

-
European ceramics
Italian Renaissance maiolica, English delftware and 18th-century European porcelain, including Commedia dell'Arte figures and scent bottles, according to the museum.
-
Asian, modern and contemporary ceramics
The collection later widened to Asian, modern and contemporary ceramics, with a focus on Canadian work, and the museum shows changing special exhibitions.
-
Special exhibitions
The museum says its general admission includes the special exhibitions (checked 29 October 2026).
-
Door-to-door private transport
A private vehicle and a licensed, insured driver-guide collect your group anywhere in the Greater Toronto Area; tolls, parking and fuel are included.

Cancellation and changes
You can cancel up to 24 hours before your tour date, and a cancellation made less than 24 hours before your tour date is not refunded. Your booking confirmation carries the cancellation terms that apply; section 7 of our Terms and Conditions covers cancellations. A booking needs at least 24 hours' notice. To cancel or change your date, email info@voyzo.com before the 24-hour cutoff; we will try to reschedule, subject to availability. Section 10 of the Terms and Conditions describes how independent operators fit in.
How booking works
- Choose your group size, date and start time. We need at least 24 hours' notice, and the calendar's hourly start options run from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Send your request. The calendar's Book now button sends a request rather than a confirmed booking.
- Share your pickup address and any wishes. Put your pickup address, dietary needs, mobility needs, children's ages and any time you must finish by in the message box of the quote form on this page, or email info@voyzo.com.
- Receive your confirmation. Once we confirm availability by email, we send your exact pickup time and your tour details ahead of the tour.
How the hours and start times work
The price covers a private tour of 3 hours. The booking calendar shows one price per group size and has no length option, and time beyond the 3 hours is charged additionally; we confirm the rate by email. This page does not split the 3 hours between travel and time at the museum: we confirm the plan for your date by email. The calendar offers hourly start times from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, but the museum opens at 10 am and closes at 6 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, at 9 pm on Wednesday and at 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday, so we confirm a start time that fits its hours and cannot promise the hour you choose.
Who runs your tour
You book with Voyzo FZ-LLC, and Voyzo remains your point of contact for booking, pricing and support: info@voyzo.com.
Some private tours run on the vehicles and drivers of Voyzo's affiliated Canadian operating company; other tours, such as flights, boat rides and attraction visits, are run by independent operators, all professionally licensed and insured.
On this tour one driver-guide drives the vehicle and guides your day, and the driver-guide and vehicle are licensed and insured. A separate tour guide is not included; it can be added at extra cost, and we confirm the cost by email. The museum visit itself follows the Gardiner Museum's own hours, admission and rules.
Museum admission
The tour price is the vehicle and driver-guide for your group. Whether museum admission is covered for your group is confirmed when you book. The museum sets and publishes its own admission: general admission includes the special exhibitions, there are no timed-entry tickets, an online ticket is valid for the whole day it is bought for, and tickets can also be bought at the Front Desk. Its hours and admission page lists free admission on Wednesdays after 4 pm, while its visitor-guide page says half-price from 4 to 9 pm, so confirm the Wednesday price on the day. Admission is also free for Gardiner Friends and Annual Pass holders, visitors 18 and under, students with a valid student ID and Indigenous people; groups of 10 or more get a special rate and must pre-register (the museum's website, checked 29 October 2026).
Larger groups
The booking calendar sells group totals for 1 to 56 guests. The Gardiner Museum asks groups of 10 or more to pre-register and offers them a special admission rate (checked 29 October 2026), so give us your final group size when you book and we confirm how the visit is arranged for a larger group.
Accessibility
The Gardiner Museum says its main entrance is fully accessible with ramps, with a wheelchair-accessible ramp at the south end of the Museum Plaza and elevators to all floors. It lists manual wheelchairs, chairs with arms and benches in the galleries, washrooms on multiple floors, service animals welcome and free entry for a support person when needed (the museum's website, checked 29 October 2026). This page does not state a wheelchair-accessible vehicle for this tour: tell us about any mobility needs before you book and we confirm what can be arranged.
Children
The museum lists free admission for visitors 18 and under, asks that visitors under 12 are accompanied by an adult, and allows only strollers and front-facing baby carriers in the galleries (the museum's website, checked 29 October 2026). It publishes no recommended age. Tell us your children's ages when you book, and we confirm the arrangements for the vehicle, including child seats, by email.
Bags, photos and the galleries
The museum's visitor policy says all backpacks must be checked, and purses and bags larger than 12 x 16 x 5 inches and full-size umbrellas are not permitted in the Permanent Collection Galleries or the Special Exhibition Hall; complimentary lockers are on the ground floor. Photography and video without flash are allowed for personal, non-commercial use unless signs say otherwise, and live-streaming, tripods and selfie sticks are not permitted. Visitors may not touch or lean on displays unless they are marked touchable (the museum's website, checked 29 October 2026).
Food and dietary needs
This tour includes no meals. Eating and drinking are not permitted in the galleries except in designated areas, and food service is at Clay Restaurant on the 3rd floor, which lists Monday to Friday 11 am to 3 pm, closed Saturday, and open Sunday 10 am to 3 pm, and whose group-tours page advises groups to book a table in advance (the museum's website, checked 29 October 2026). We have not read its menu: tell us about dietary needs when you book and we pass them on, but we cannot confirm what the restaurant can provide.
Winter and weather
The visit is indoors at one museum. The museum's pages list no winter closure and give a Holidays row (10 am to 5 pm) without naming individual holidays, so we confirm its hours for your date, including around 25 December and 1 January (checked 29 October 2026). What changes through the season is the museum's special exhibitions, dated under What's open when.
Private tour, group tour or visiting on your own?
| Topic | This private tour | Group tour | Visiting on your own |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who you travel with | Your group in the vehicle with a driver-guide; the museum is open to the public, so you share the galleries with other visitors | Other travellers | Your own party |
| Getting there | Pickup at your hotel, home or airport in the GTA, with drop-off arranged with you | Varies by tour | Transit, taxi or your own car; the museum's pages give no drop-off or parking details |
| Guidance in the museum | A driver-guide drives and guides the day; a separate tour guide is not included | Varies by tour | The museum's own highlights tour runs at 2 pm daily, and groups can request an educator-led tour from the museum |
| Museum admission | Confirmed when you book; this page does not state it as included | Varies by tour | Set and published by the museum, with free entry for several visitor groups and free or half-price entry on Wednesday evenings (the museum's own pages differ) |
| Timing | A start time we confirm to fit the museum's hours; your group sets the pace | A set timetable | Yours, within the museum's opening hours |
| Cost | One group total: US$1,699 for 1 to 4 guests, rising with group size (see the pricing table) | Varies by operator | The museum's admission plus your own transport |
| If plans change | Cancel up to 24 hours before your tour date; terms come with your confirmation | Varies by operator | The museum's online tickets are valid for the whole day they are bought for |
| Choose it if | You want door-to-door transport to the museum for your group | You prefer a per-person price and a set timetable | You want to set the day yourself |
Visiting on your own can cost much less in total, because you pay only the museum's admission and your own transport. The private tour costs more, and what you buy is the vehicle and driver-guide: pickup at your address, a start time confirmed for you and one total for the whole group, which makes it the closer fit for a group that wants door-to-door transport to a single museum.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Private Gardiner Museum Tour in Toronto?
It is a private tour of 3 hours to the Gardiner Museum at 111 Queen's Park, with a private vehicle and a licensed, insured driver-guide who collects your group anywhere in the Greater Toronto Area. The vehicle and driver-guide are for your group only; the museum is open to the public. It costs US$1,699 in total for 1 to 4 guests, with tolls, parking and fuel included, and museum admission is confirmed when you book.
How much does the Private Gardiner Museum Tour cost?
It costs US$1,699 in total for 1 to 4 guests, in US dollars with no added taxes. Prices are totals for the whole group, not per person: US$1,699 for 1 to 4 guests, US$1,999 for 5 to 6, US$2,499 for 7 to 10, US$2,999 for 11 to 14, US$3,499 for 15 to 28, US$3,999 for 29 to 34 and US$4,499 for 35 to 56 guests. Each price covers the 3-hour tour with all tolls, parking and fuel; gratuities are not included, and museum admission is confirmed when you book.
What does the price include, and what is extra?
The price is the total for one private tour of 3 hours for your group. It covers a private vehicle with a licensed, insured driver-guide, door-to-door pickup and drop-off in the Greater Toronto Area, and all tolls, parking and fuel. It does not cover gratuities, meals and snacks, museum admission unless we confirm it when you book, a separate tour guide, time beyond the 3 hours or pickup outside the GTA.
Is museum admission included, and is the museum free on Wednesdays?
The tour price is the vehicle and driver-guide for your group, and we confirm when you book whether museum admission is covered. The museum sets its own admission. Its hours page says admission is free on Wednesdays after 4 pm, but its visitor-guide page says half-price from 4 to 9 pm, so confirm on the day. It also lists free entry for visitors 18 and under, students with a valid ID, Indigenous people and Gardiner Friends or Annual Pass holders (checked 29 October 2026).
How long is the tour, and what time does it start?
The tour is planned as 3 hours, and time beyond that is charged additionally; we confirm the rate by email. The Gardiner Museum publishes no recommended visit length on the pages we read, so this page does not split the 3 hours between travel and time inside. The booking calendar offers hourly start times from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, but the museum opens at 10 am, so we confirm a start time that fits its hours by email rather than promising the hour you choose.
Who guides the tour, and does the museum offer guided tours?
One driver-guide drives the vehicle and guides your day; a separate tour guide is not included and can be added at extra cost. This page does not describe the driver-guide as a museum specialist, so ask us if that matters to you. The museum runs a free highlights tour at 2 pm daily, subject to change, and offers groups a 45-minute educator-led private tour, booked with the museum and not part of this price unless we confirm it (checked 29 October 2026).
Is the tour private, and will we have the museum to ourselves?
The vehicle and the driver-guide are for your group only. The Gardiner Museum is open to the public during its opening hours, so your group shares the galleries with other visitors; no private opening or after-hours access is part of the tour as described here. If you want the museum's own private educator tour for your group, ask us how it fits and book it through the museum.
Where do you pick up and drop off?
Pickup is at a hotel, home or airport anywhere in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), door to door, and it is included in the price. The GTA means the City of Toronto and the regions of Durham, Halton, Peel and York. Pickup outside the GTA costs extra, so request a custom quote. Drop-off is arranged with you. Add your address to the quote form on this page or email it to info@voyzo.com, and we email your exact pickup time once your booking is confirmed.
Where is the Gardiner Museum, and is there parking?
The Gardiner Museum is at 111 Queen's Park, Toronto, M5S 2C7, in the Midtown area that Destination Toronto describes as including Yorkville, the Annex and Queen's Park. The museum's pages give no drop-off, parking or transit directions (checked 29 October 2026), so we confirm by email where the vehicle sets your group down. Parking for the vehicle is included in the tour price, so you do not arrange it.
Is the Gardiner Museum wheelchair accessible?
The museum says its main entrance is fully accessible with ramps, with a wheelchair-accessible ramp at the south end of the Museum Plaza and elevators to all floors. It lists manual wheelchairs, chairs with arms and benches in the galleries, and service animals welcome (checked 29 October 2026). This page does not state a wheelchair-accessible vehicle for the tour, so tell us about any mobility needs before you book and we confirm what can be arranged.
Can children come on the tour?
The museum admits children: it lists free admission for visitors 18 and under, asks that visitors under 12 are accompanied by an adult, and allows only strollers and front-facing baby carriers in the galleries (checked 29 October 2026). It publishes no recommended age. Tell us your children's ages when you book, and we confirm the arrangements for the vehicle, including child seats, by email.
What are the museum's rules on bags, photos and food?
The museum says all backpacks must be checked and that bags larger than 12 x 16 x 5 inches and full-size umbrellas are not permitted in its permanent collection and special exhibition galleries; complimentary lockers are on the ground floor. Photography and video without flash are allowed for personal, non-commercial use unless signs say otherwise, but tripods, selfie sticks and live-streaming are not. Eating and drinking are not permitted except in designated areas, and food service is at Clay Restaurant on the 3rd floor (checked 29 October 2026).
What is in the Gardiner Museum's collection?
The museum says its collection holds more than 5,000 objects. Its founding collection was earthenwares, including ancient American ceramics (its collections page now calls this area Ancestral Abiayala), Italian Renaissance maiolica and English delftware, plus 18th-century European porcelain, later widened to creamware, French faience, 19th-century ceramics and Asian, modern and contemporary ceramics with a focus on Canadian work. Its visitor guide says the permanent galleries, on two floors, hold over 2,000 ceramic objects (checked 29 October 2026).
Is the Gardiner Museum worth visiting, and who is this tour for?
It depends on your interests, and we do not rank museums. Destination Toronto describes the Gardiner as a small specialty museum dedicated to clay and ceramics, and the museum calls itself one of the only museums in the world dedicated to ceramics. The tour suits visitors who want ceramics and decorative arts, and a group that wants door-to-door transport, rather than a general museum such as the Royal Ontario Museum.
What is on at the museum this winter, and does the tour change?
On 29 October 2026 the museum listed Magnus Hara: The Light of Day (to 15 November 2026), After the Island: Caribbean Canadian Ceramics (9 October 2026 to 25 April 2027) and In Search of Imperfection (to 7 March 2027), with Adaptive Ceramic Histories upcoming from 20 November 2026. The visit is indoors at one museum and its pages list no winter closure; what changes through the season is its exhibitions, and we confirm its hours for your date.
Can a large group book this tour?
The booking calendar sells group totals for 1 to 56 guests, and the vehicle is matched to your group size. The Gardiner Museum asks groups of 10 or more to pre-register and offers them a special admission rate (checked 29 October 2026), so give us your final group size when you book. We then confirm how the visit is arranged for a larger group.
Can I add the Royal Ontario Museum or another stop?
Ask us. This tour is planned around the Gardiner Museum, and time beyond the 3 hours is charged additionally. The Royal Ontario Museum is a separate museum at 100 Queen's Park with its own ticket, and Voyzo also runs a separate private Royal Ontario Museum tour. Tell us what you want in the quote form on this page, and we confirm by email what fits and the total.
What is the cancellation policy?
You can cancel up to 24 hours before your tour date. A cancellation made less than 24 hours before your tour date is not refunded. Your booking confirmation carries the cancellation terms that apply, and section 7 of our Terms and Conditions covers cancellations. To cancel or change your date, email info@voyzo.com before the 24-hour cutoff; we will try to reschedule, subject to availability.
How does booking work?
Booking is a request: pick your group size, a date and a preferred start time in the calendar, then press its “Book now” button. A booking needs at least 24 hours' notice, and nothing is confirmed until we confirm availability by email. After that we send your exact pickup time and your tour details. For a longer tour, another stop or more than 56 guests, use the quote form on this page.

About the Private Gardiner Museum Tour
This tour is for a group that wants one specialist museum and door-to-door transport rather than a full-day city circuit. A private vehicle and a licensed, insured driver-guide collect the group in the Greater Toronto Area and take it to the Gardiner Museum at 111 Queen's Park; the museum is open to the public, so the galleries are shared with other visitors.
The museum sets its own hours, admission and exhibitions, and they change: those on this page were read on 29 October 2026. Because the booking calendar offers start times from 7:00 AM and the museum opens at 10 am, we confirm a start time that fits its hours before we confirm the tour.
The Gardiner Museum says it was opened in 1984 by George and Helen Gardiner to house their collection of ancient American artifacts and European pottery and porcelain. George Gardiner began collecting ceramics in 1976, at first to decorate his home, and collected in depth in ancient American ceramics, Italian Renaissance pottery, English pottery of the 17th century and 18th-century European porcelain (the museum's history page, checked 29 October 2026).
The Royal Ontario Museum managed the Gardiner between 1987 and 1996, and the museum says an endowment from George Gardiner then restored its independence. It reopened in 2006 after an expansion led by Kuwabara Payne McKenna Blumberg (the museum's history page, checked 29 October 2026).
The museum calls itself one of the only museums in the world dedicated to ceramics and says its collection holds more than 5,000 objects. Its founding collection was widened to creamware, French faience, 19th-century ceramics such as Minton, and Asian, modern and contemporary ceramics, with a focus on Canadian work (the museum's collections page, checked 29 October 2026). Destination Toronto describes it, in its Midtown guide, as a small specialty museum dedicated to clay and ceramics.
