A private vehicle is optional: every guest pays the per-person rate and AED 800 is added for the vehicle, for up to 9 guests. Higher rates apply from 24 Dec 2026 to 6 Jan 2027, when the per-person rate is AED 895 per adult and AED 795 per child; the private-vehicle charge stays AED 800. How does the private vehicle charge work?
With a private vehicle every guest pays the per-person rate and one per-vehicle charge of AED 800 is added, which covers up to 9 guests in the vehicle. For example, two adults at the standard-date rate pay 2 x AED 795 plus AED 800, which is AED 2,390; children aged 5 to 11 pay the child rate instead of the adult rate. For a group of more than 9 guests, tell us your group size and we confirm the vehicles and the total in our reply.
Is this a private tour?
Only the vehicle can be private, and only if you add a private vehicle; at the per-person rate the hotel transfer is shared with other guests. The camel safari, camp, performances and dinner service are part of the operator's shared evening, and we do not describe any of them as private. The operator says it limits its camps to 75 to 100 guests.
What time is pickup and when do we return?
Pickup in Dubai is between 2:00 PM and 4:30 PM depending on the season, with the exact time confirmed around noon on the day, and the whole evening lasts about 7 hours. The return to your hotel is between 9:30 PM and 11:30 PM. At the per-person rate the pickup is in a shared, air-conditioned vehicle, and guests staying in a private residence are collected from the nearest hotel unless a private vehicle is added.
How long is the camel ride?
The camel safari is about 45 minutes through the desert after you arrive at the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, on a route the operator says traces the footsteps of Bedouin travellers. More camel rides are available at the camp.
What is the dinner like, and can dietary needs be catered for?
Dinner is a four-course traditional Emirati meal at the camp. The operator's published menu lists lentil soup (shorbat adas), starters such as kibbeh, sambousek, baba ganoush, hummus and fattoush, mains such as lamb ouzi, harees, camel meat, charcoal-grilled chicken and vegetable tagine, and desserts such as luqaimat, and the menu can change. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and kosher-style meals are available if declared; tell us any dietary needs or allergies when you request the tour so they can be passed on before the day.
Is it suitable for children or during pregnancy?
Children aged 5 to 11 pay the child rate, and a private vehicle is required for children under 5, so tell us the age of every child when you request. The camel safari is not recommended for guests more than six months pregnant.
Can we stay overnight after the camel evening?
An overnight stay can be added from 1 November to 30 April, in a stone-dwelling room at the camp with a bonfire and a gourmet breakfast, returning to Dubai by about 10 AM the next morning. Voyzo's Dubai Overnight Desert Safari page describes the stay on the Heritage evening; tell us you want it with the camel evening and we confirm availability and the price in our reply.
What is the cancellation policy?
Bookings of up to 4 guests can be cancelled for a full refund up to 24 hours before departure; inside 24 hours there is no refund. Groups of more than 4 guests have longer notice periods, which we confirm with your reply. The dromedary, the one-humped Arabian camel, carried people and goods across the Arabian Peninsula for centuries, and Bedouin communities built their routes, trade and hospitality around it. A camel safari is the closest you can get to that pace of travel: slow, high above the sand and quiet. The operator describes the route as one that traces the footsteps of Bedouin travellers.
The evening starts at the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve. The reserve is a protected area of dunes, gravel plains and ghaf woodland covering roughly 225 square kilometres, about five per cent of Dubai's land area. Sources differ on exactly when it was created, with a decree dated 2002 and a perimeter fence completed in 2003 both cited, and some trace its roots to the Al Maha conservation area of around 1999. Its best-known resident is the Arabian oryx, an antelope recorded as extinct in the wild by the early 1970s that the IUCN moved from extinct in the wild to vulnerable in 2011 after reintroductions across the Arabian Peninsula.
Falconry is far older than the reserve. Bedouin communities across the Arabian Peninsula used falcons as a hunting partner for centuries, and in 2010 UNESCO inscribed falconry on its Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity on a nomination in which the United Arab Emirates was one of the original countries; later extensions had widened it to 24 countries by 2021. After the sunset falcon show the evening moves to a torch-lit Bedouin-style camp for a four-course Emirati dinner, live bread and coffee making, and performances including drumming and Yola. The operator states that a portion of each fee supports local conservation in Dubai.
